Video taken on the scene of the 3rd Alarm house fire this evening in West Caldwell. Got on scene about 30 minutes after the first call went out. Arrived to find heavy fire through the roof and venting out all windows on all sides. 1st due companies reported "extremely poor" hydrant presssure and had to first go in with just using tank water. FIT-5 Knocks Down Diesel Fire

The FIT-5 is extremely effective against Class B (diesel, gasoline, oil product, etc..) fires in contained spaces. In this video, Justice Institute of BC trainers ignited 60 liters of diesel in a mock large vessel engine room. The FIT-5 extinguished the fire in less than 20 seconds. The remaining diesel was re-ignited. The remaining powder from the FIT-5 extinguished the fire again.

Fully Involved House Fire in Gary, Ind.

At 2:13am GFD was toned out for a reported house on fire at Louisiana and Ridge Road, the header and glow were clearly visible from 80-94 and MLK. Crews had hydrant problems from the start, after a short exterior attack Truck 4 was used briefly to knock some of the fire down. Multiple lines were used and nobody was injured at the fire scene.

NY Car Fire Out In Seconds With FireIce

Flashover at Ind. house

You can see the flashover at about 1:38 into the video. The Ogden Dunes, Ind., FD was dispatched to a reported attached garage on fire in a 1-story 25x75 house. On arrival a fully involved garage with extension to the house was reported. A 1st alarm was struck at the point, Engine 1511 stretched a 3 inch ground monitor and used foam for the fire attack. Just before crews were going to make an interior attack there was a flashover that blew windows out and engulfed every room in the house. It was later determined the house was under rehab, there were two workers in the house that made it out safe. Fire investigators from Porter County F.I.S.T. Team were on scene working. Nobody was injured at the fire scene.

This Newark 4 alarm fire took place on 07-26-09. A severe thunderstorm comes through just as the fire really starts to take off. The blowing wind made firefighter efforts more difficult.

LOWER TOWNSHIP-- Several fire departments responded to 11 Cormorant Way around 4:10 p.m. for a structure fire on Wednesday, July 15. The home was heavily damaged in the fire. No injuries were reported. The Cape May County chapter of the American Red Cross was requested to the scene to assist the displaced residents. The fire is under investigation by Lower Township Police.
