Excellent video. Work smarter, not harder. Save the sawblade for something important. Once the fire is controlled from the wheel wells and hood corners, pull the front grill if there still is one, reach up and pull the hoodlatch release cable next to the latch. You'll sometimes need a pair of pliers. This is alot less dramatic than using the saw, but is usually effective and saves a sawblade.

excellent video chief... i watched this a week ago, and three days later i was fighting a fully involved engine and driver seat fire... your tips and a quick response helped save the drivers belongings, including college books, purse, and even an ipod that was still working in the passenger seat i have shared this vid with many of our members, some tactics we used to gain entry to the hood were different but got the same results... we used a hood latch tool to turn the cable underneath the latch...
